Donkey Day
Hee-haw and Wheek-haw, Piggies! It's Donkey Appreciation Day! Wheek-haw! 🐹 🤎 🖤 🤎 🐴 🐴 🐴 🥕
"🎶 Sweetly sings the donkey at the break of day.
If you do not feed him, this is what he’ll say:
Hee-haw! Hee-haw! Hee-haw! Hee-haw! Hee-haw!"
~ Traditional
Is your guinea pig as stubborn as a little guinea mule? Do they refuse to move even when given a little nudge from behind? They may have donkey ancestors!
The male donkey or ass is called a jack, a female a jenny or jennet. A cross between a male donkey and a female horse produces a mule, known for their stubbornness. And the opposite pairing from a stallion and jenny is called a hinny! Goodness gracious!
And those miniature donkeys ... too cute!
And if you've ever slowed down the wheek of a guinea pig, it may remind you of the braying of a donkey.
The persevering donkey has been used as a working animal for at least 5000 years! There are many sanctuaries for donkeys run by the kind-hearted to help care for aging and neglected donkeys. One is in the comments below.
Wheek! Wheek-haw!
