Werewolf & Werepig Night

HOWL AT THE MOON, WHEEK AT THE FRIG, IT'S WEREWOLF & WEREPIG NIGHT, PIGGIES! 🐹 🖤 🖤 🖤 🐺 🐺 🐺 🌔🥕

🎶 "Aaoooooo (wheek wheek)
Werewolves of London
Aaoooooo (wheek wheek)"

Beware the WEREPIG, Piggies Pals! As the full moon approaches on Oct 26, watch for the telltale signs: unusual hair growth, restless nocturnal wheeking, and an irresistible urge to stare dramatically up in the direcdtion of the moon. And if your guinea pig suddenly looks extra fluffy-scruffy, remain calm. You may simply have a werewolf Skinny Pig!

Official “werewolf” guinea pigs are actually a Skinny Pig breed whose hairless gene didn't quite finish the job, leaving extra fur on the head, shoulders, and sometimes down to the rump. Depending on the amount, they may be deemed “lightly” or “heavily” werewolf. 🤪

In folklore, transformation of a human into a wolf is a serious condition, lycanthropy and is famously associated with the full moon. Historical cures ranged from exorcism and the toxic herb wolfsbane to much simpler remedies.

In Schleswig-Holstein, calling a werewolf three times by its Christian name supposedly cured it, while Danish folklore recommended simply scolding it. 😮

Bad werewolf! BAD!

With the full moon soon approaching, keep the lettuce locked up and watch your potential werepig carefully! Keep a carrot handy should there be an attempting mauling. Werepigs are easily distracted.

Wheek! Wheek! Wheekooooooooooo!
