Rock 'N Roll Wednesday

It's Rock 'N Roll Wednesday, Piggies & Pals! Wheek along with Stevie Nicks Nibbles and the classic 70s/80's style with Fleetherd Mac! 🐹 💛 🤎 💛 🎶 🎤 🥕

Got a guinea pig named Stevie? Or is Stevie Nicks your spirit animal? 🤪

Wheeked to the tune of "Gypsy", Fleetwood Mac, 1982

"So I'm back, to the velvet fleece of bedding
Back to the pigloo, that I love
To a cage strewn with paper lace and cardboard boxes
Back to the cavy that I was
To the piggy that I was ...

And it all comes down to you
Well you know that it does
And my appetite strikes, maybe once, maybe thrice!
Oh, and my hungry wheeks light up the night ...

And you hear your piggy
You see your piggy"

Stevie Nicks Nibbles widely regarded as the most mysteriously enchanting guinea pig ever to grace a litter-lined stage, first rose to fame as the velvet-voiced front squeaker and wheeker of the legendary herd band Fleetherd Mac.

The group’s classic lineup included the brooding hay-bale guitarist Lindsay Buckteethham, the steady and slightly exasperated drummer Mick Fleetfeet, the ever-diplomatic bassist John McHay, and the formidable songstress Christine McVeggies.

Together, they created a sound that blended emotional intensity with the soft rustle of premium 3rd cut timothy hay—and, of course, Stevie’s unmistakable, distinctive throaty wheek, a sound so hauntingly raspy it could summon both snacks and existential reflection.

Nibbles quickly became known for her dramatic entrances— layers of flowing blonde fur tousled as if by mystical indoor winds, and her Victorian, bohemian, slightly witchy-pig style of dress influenced a generation of young piglets.

The band’s most tumultuous period came during the recording of their iconic album "Rumours of an Impending Nose-off", an era marked by dramatic cage-side tensions, including an infamous dispute over a missing slice of cucumber (still unsolved). Nibbles channeled the chaos and heartbreak into deeply emotional ballads about love, betrayal, and who really knocked over the pellet bowl at 2 a.m.

Stevie eventually went solo after all this cage-fighting.
