“Alba agus gearra-mhuca gu bràth.”
~ Scotland and guinea pigs forever!
If you have Scottish ancestry or just like a wee bit of tartan styling, today's the day to kilt up! St Andrew is the patron Saint of Scotland! And if you want to learn more about the fabulous wild creature known as the Haggis, thought to have guinea pig ancestry but evolutionarily more suited to the rugged Highlands of Scotland, stay tuned!
In addition to being Scotland's patron saint, Andrew is the patron saint of many countries including Greece, Ukraine, Russia, Cyprus, and others! St. Andrew is also the patron saint of fishermen, fishmongers and rope-makers, textile workers, singers, miners, pregnant women, butchers, farm workers, and gives protection against sore throats, convulsions, fever, and whooping cough!
Now that's a hard-working saint!
