Pumpkin Night

Happy Pumpkin Monday, Piggies & Pals! 🐹 🧡 🧡 🧡 🎃 🎃 🎃 🥕

Beware, oh ye gourds of orange, yellow, green, and white — your time is nigh! Hungry piggies have healthy apetites as the season cools and the nights come sooner!!!

In the Americas, the pumpkin reigns supreme as Hallowe’en’s Jack-o’-Lantern, glowing bravely against wandering spirits — while conveniently providing plenty of seeds for snacking!

But before pumpkins stole the spotlight, folk in Scotland and Britain carved far humbler victims: turnips, rutabagas, beets, and even potatoes, their candlelit grins flickering through dark autumn nights.

And the tradition isn’t entirely gone! In parts of northeastern France and neighboring regions, children still carve sugar beets into wonderfully gruesome lanterns around All Saints’ Day.

So beware, vegetables. The piggies have their beady eyes on you!

Oh my gourd! 🐹 🎃 🕯️
