Remembrance Day
In Remembrance .... for Remembrance Sunday and Veteran's Day 🐹 ❤️ 🖤 💗 💜 🤍 🌺 🎗️ 🙏
Over time, the remembrance of war dead through symbolic poppies has grown to include a flower language of colors and patterns that reflect the natural variations of the wild poppy.
A blood-red poppy with a black cross at its center signifies the soldier, sailor, or airman who fell in battle.
A red poppy with half a black cross passing through its center marks a soldier who was wounded, while a single petal bearing a quarter of a black cross represents the ‘walking wounded.’
Among a field of red poppies, a white poppy or a red poppy with pale streaks stands for the young boys who lied about their age to enlist.
Pale pink or purple poppies honor the animal casualties of war, and poppies bearing six or more black marks around their centers are reminders of the many sets of brothers who died while serving.
Lest we forget.
Wheek! Wheek!
