Pi Approximation Day

🥧 Happy Pi Approximation Day, Piggies & Pals! 🐹 🧡 💗 🧡 🥧 🥧 🥧 📐 🥕

Remember last March 14th, Pi Day, the mathematicians' holiday celebrating the never-ending number π (3.14159...). Well, today is its delightfully more relaxed cousin: Pi Approximation Day!

Today is Pi Approximation Day because 22/7 is the famous fraction that has been used for centuries as a quick-and-handy approximation of π. It's not exact—π is an irrational number whose decimal expansion continues forever without repeating—but 22 divided by 7 comes remarkably close. That makes July 22 (22/7) the perfect excuse for a little mathematical mischief... and, naturally, a slice of pie! 🥧

So while the mathematician guinea pigs are still flexing over endless digits of π, the engineering guinea pigs have already reached the important conclusion: it's close enough - now we can enjoy a slice of pie! 🥕🥧

So whether your pie is carrot, pumpkin, apple, or dandelion, may yours be a tasty day!
