💜 🌧️ Purple Rain is for more than fans of "the artist formerly known as Prince"! It's Jacaranda Season! 💜 🌧️

When jacarandas burst into bloom, entire cities can seem to turn purple. They are especially famous in Pretoria, South Africa, often called the Jacaranda City, but spectacular jacaranda displays can also be found in places such as Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Sydney and Brisbane, or perhaps your own city or garden!

In Pretoria, the blossoms arrive in October and November—right in the middle of university exam season. This has given rise to a charming student superstition: if a falling jacaranda blossom lands on your head, you’ll pass your exams! 🎓 💜

And if you're in another part of the hemisphere, there is often a second blooming in the fall!

The important thing now is simply to stand under the right tree and let it rain purple! We can all use of bit of luck, purple, piggified, or otherwise!

Wheek! Wheek!
