Hippie Day

"Tune in, Turn On, and Wheek Out!" PIggies! It's International Hippie Day! 🐹 💜 ☮️ ☮️ ☮️ ✌️ ✌️ ✌️ 🥕

"🎶 Purple haze all in my piggy brain
Lately things, they don't seem the same
Acting funny, but I don't know why
'Scuse me while I wheek at the sky"

~ Purple Haze, Jimi Hendrix Experience, 1967 (adapted for guinea pigs)

Are your pigs acting funnier than usual? 🎶 Let the sunshine in ... for most of the tuned-in piggies think we are in or nearing the Age of Aquarius!

Celebrate your inner Hippie for International Hippie Day, The hippie movement of the 1960s and 1970s, known for peace, love, and a free-spirited rejection of mainstream norms, gradually faded and its ideals—like environmentalism, mindfulness, and casual living—were absorbed into everyday culture.

Your piggies are well-equipped, longish hair, bare feet, natural smells, and practiced protestors!

If they've gotten wind of today's date by chewing on one of those calendars, you may wake this Monday to see that your perfectly sensible guinea pigs have clearly tuned in, wheeked out, and dropped out of society, and have formed a tiny, wheeking commune.

If their habitat now looks like a full-blown “Haystock” revival—tie-dye everywhere, a lava lamp glowing land a suspiciously overwatered planter of wheatgrass (so they say) being treated as both snack and philosophy, your pigs may have gone full hippie! Also, you may want to cut off their amazon credit card access. Tie-dye doesn't come cheap nowadays!

Honestly, you give them one cardboard hidey and suddenly it’s the Summer of ’69 in guinea pig form. Might as well turn on that 60s radio station and join them.

Peace, Love, and Wheek Out!

9 out of 10 guinea pigs agree - this is more thrilling than 3rd cut Timothy Hay!

Wheek!  Wheek!
