Have you ever sat around and imagined what it would be like to have a capybara or bigger sized guinea pig running around the house? Maybe that's just me. 🤪 But imagine those BIG WHEEKS!

Or perhaps you sometimes amuse your piggies withTall Tales? Short Tales? No-Tails Tales? Perhaps they might appreciate the adventures of North America's most legendary giant lumberjack, Paul Bunyan, and his faithful and even bigger companion, Babe the Big Blue Ox!

Paul Bunyan (said to stand 63 axe handles high) and Babe (unknown number of axe handles) became famous through the exaggerated stories shared by lumberjacks around campfires in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each storyteller tried to outdo the last!

🌲 Paul's axe carved the Grand Canyon when he dragged it behind him on a long walk!
💧 Babe's giant footprints became Minnesota's 10,000 Lakes!
🌊 Puget Sound was created when Babe wandered into the Pacific Ocean to cool off on a hot day!
🏔️ The Black Hills of South Dakota formed from the dirt that shook from Paul and Babe's boots after a day's work!
🏞️ Paul straightened winding rivers like the Mississippi so floating logs would reach the mills more quickly!
❄️ Winter followed Babe wherever he went because his brilliant blue color supposedly came from rolling in snow during the legendary Winter of the Blue Snow!
🥞 Paul's logging camp cooked pancakes on a giant griddle, and lumberjacks skated across it on slabs of butter to grease the surface.
🦟 Mosquitoes were so big that they carried off full-grown men, and Paul had to swat them with pine trees.
🌪️ Paul could shout so loudly that people heard him from one end of the logging camp to the other—sometimes for miles!

It's possible ... these days, anything is possible!

What the storytellers usually leave out, however, is that every legendary logging outfit needs a detail crew. Paul's consisted of an elite band of guinea pig timberpigs and piggyjacks, specialists in all the jobs too small for giants: clearing the underbrush, inspecting timothy-quality hay and twigs, counting pinecones, and wheeking the crew in to suppertime. 🌲🪓 🐹
