Book Lover's Day

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿน Itโ€™s Book Loverโ€™s Day, Piggies & Pals! Are you a bookworm? ๐Ÿน ๐Ÿ’— ๐Ÿ’— ๐Ÿ’— ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿชฑ ๐Ÿชฑ ๐Ÿชฑ

The term "bookworm" (which has its English origins in any insect which bores through books) has interesting equivalents in other languages:

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง ๐Ÿ› ๐Ÿ“š Bookworm (English)
๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ ๐Ÿชฒ ๐Ÿ“– Book flea (Indonesian)
๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด ๐Ÿญ ๐Ÿ“š Library mouse (Romanian)
๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ€ ๐Ÿ“– Read-rat (German)
๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ ๐Ÿท Ink drinker (French)
๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ ๐Ÿด ๐Ÿ“š Reading horse (Danish)

Thereโ€™s actually quite a lot of guinea pig fiction to be had nowadays, from classics such as Pigs Is Pigs to modern childrenโ€™s stories, adventures, mysteries, and tales featuring guinea pigs. Do you have a favourite? Mine was the Fluffy books, about a classroom piggy who was always getting into season scrapes.

Of course, piggies themselves have very broad literary tastes and can be found scurrying around lots of different book genre aisles.

Donโ€™t nibble the pages, please!

Happy Book Loverโ€™s Day โ€” and Wheek Quietly! ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿน
