In 1904, David Strickler, an apprentice pharmacist at a drugstore in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, created the first banana split. The classic treat features three scoops of ice cream—vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry—nestled between the halves of a banana, drizzled with chocolate, strawberry, or caramel sauce, and finished with crushed nuts, whipped cream, and maraschino cherries.

Guinea pigs, meanwhile, never quite know how they get into these predicaments. One moment they’re waiting for lettuce, and the next they’re dressed as ice-cream scoops in a Guinea Split! 🍌 🍒 🐹
