Sara Bisschop was a Dutch painter, the daughter of Suze Robertson and Richard Bisschop, both painters. She lived many years with foster parents until 1915 after which she painted with her mother and exhibited works with her in 1917. She studied at Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (Royal Academie of Art) in The Hague and at the Rotterdamse Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (Academy of Visual Arts) and also worked as a secondary school art teacher.
