Joan Mestre i Bosch (1824/26 -1893) was a prominent Mallorcan painter of the second half of the 19th century, specializing in portraiture and religious painting.

He trained under Bartolomé Sureda and completed his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where he won multiple medals at provincial exhibitions.

His style combined academic training with Romantic influences and an eclectic realism, distinguished by idealized landscape backgrounds and detailed rendering of clothing and jewelry.
