(1651-1727)

 Pieter van der Hulst (1651-1727), was a Dutch Golden Age painter. He decorated his flower paintings with wild herbs, snakes, toads, salamanders, and other wildlife.  Later he tried his hand at painting portraits, but these were not as popular as his earlier work.
